More Than Words provides curriculum and resources to use the monthly value word and definition to elementary schools in Wayne County. Currently, we are partnered with schools in Richmond, Western Wayne, Northeastern Wayne, Nettle Creek and Centerville School districts as well as Richmond Academy.
In addition to curriculum, we also offer the opportunity for schools to host a monthly school assembly called a School XP. Put on by volunteers, these assemblies use humor, music, and interactivity to show what the word looks like in action.
Middle, Junior, Intermediate, and High Schools
Instead of an adult "telling" kids about the value word and definition each month, our programs with older students allow the kids themselves to design how to speak about the word and definition each month to their peers. Check out an awesome video here about the curriculum we use (and is written by local students and adults!!) click here to become a partner at the secondary school level.
By providing colorful posters and fun curriculum, More Than Words connects our younger citizens with the community at large in an age-appropriate way. Instead of learning patience, for example, they simply learn "I can wait." If your preschool would like to be a partner, click here.
